The Winnipeg Jets clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup playoffs Thursday night.

Gabriel Vilardi scored three times as Winnipeg defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 at Canada Life Centre.

It's Vilardi's first first career NHL hat trick.

Nikolaj Ehlers and Tyler Toffoli also scored for the Jets who have won back-to-back games after losing six straight.

Josh Morrissey chipped in with a pair of assists and Connor Hellebuyck made 31 saves.

Winnipeg went 2-for-4 with the man advantage.

The Jets had scored just once in 23 power play opportunities in their previous seven games.

The Flames were eliminated from playoff contention with the loss.

Winnipeg is six points ahead of the Nashville Predators for third place in the Central Division and four points behind the second place Colorado Avalanche.

The Jets (46-24-6) next game is Saturday afternoon against the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul.
