After more than twenty years, the CEO of Access Credit Union says it was time for its downtown Winkler branch to get a refresh
Larry Davey says changes were needed, as the branch experience for members has evolved a lot over the years. He says the biggest thing they wanted to focus on was bringing in the light from outside, not only for the members when they come in, but also for the staff working ongoing.
"We did a huge transition on offices and the availability of light, downstairs and upstairs," shared Davey. "And we also had to factor in people's work patterns now, having changed after COVID. So there are offices here for hotelling where people can come and use them."
Davey says because of Accesses expansion across Southern Manitoba, they have people who will come from other branches, or other locations. He says the 'hotel offices' make sure they have spaces for them as well.
"This is the type of look we want for Access as we continue to renovate offices. We took some of the learnings for our Innovation Centre and our Carman branches and put them into this," added Davey. "We will continue to learn as we move into other branches for renovations as well."

Mark Peters, managing partner of the Winkler branch says the new layout creates a better use of space and includes a larger call centre, I.T. area, and training room.
The training centre was recently moved from the corporate office in the RM of Stanley to the downtown Winkler branch.
