It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a great person, John Kenneth (Ken) Norman. Ken passed away peacefully at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024, at the age of 86 years after a long period of declining health. A Memorial Service will be held in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. to share memories and to celebrate Ken’s life. A private family interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
Ken was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on September 26th, 1937, to parents Gladys and Bert Norman. Ken was the eldest of two sons. He met the love of his life, Doreen Yanke, and the happy couple were married in 1962. They began their life together in Moose Jaw, SK and they later moved to a rural property just south of Moose Jaw, SK where they farmed and spent most of their married life together.
Ken dealt with dementia in his later years which prevented him from doing many of the things that he had previously enjoyed. He spent his last few years at Providence Place. A special thank you from the family goes out to Providence Place and to all the staff on both the Guardian Grove and the St. Anthony wards for their kindness, compassion and care that was extended to both Ken and the family during his time there.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gladys (née: McLees) and Bert Norman; and youngest son, Brent. Ken will be greatly missed by his wife, Doreen; daughter, Shauna (Glen) Belsher; son, Duane (Cheryl Rozon); and his only grandchild, Heather Belsher; brother, Graham (Sharon); as well as many other relatives and friends.
