Another Annual General Meeting has come and gone for Southport. The 32nd edition saw it's Board of Directors, General Members, staff and special guest come together to discuss the 2023-2024 fiscal year in the Hilly Brown Building in Southport.
The AGM began with Southport's Board Chair, Dale Lyle, highlighting a successful 2023-2024 year and included welcoming new General members and announcing the appointment MNP LLP as auditors for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
Southport is pleased to announced Nettie Neudorf was elected to the Board of Directors for her first 3-year term. Directors Julene Toews Dewis, Peter Young, Ken Webb and Carey Duncan were all re-elected for another 3-year term each. It was also announced that Dale Lyle will remain as board chair for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
Southport's management team presented on the 2023-2024 fiscal year with a positive financial report, a review of marketing events, business initiatives, capital projects highlights, and an update on the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program. Plans for the 2024-2025 fiscal year were presented, which included the launch of Southport’s Corporate Stewardship Framework, the completion of Southport’s new Administration building and hosting a successful Airshow.
Southport's CEO, Peggy May concluded the event by stating, "Undoubtably, our success can be credited to our engaged Board and Management supported by a growing team of dedicated employees all working toward a bigger and brighter future for Southport. I am looking forward to an exciting year ahead which includes hosting the airshow, moving into our new state-of-the art administration building and the continued growth of Southport's economic impact!"
