We regret to announce the sudden passing of our dear mother and wife, Sharon Richards on July 1, 2024, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg at the age of 67.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Ted Richards; son Jason (Susan) and his children Tyra, Josh, and Kayli; daughter Jennifer (Husband Wes Wolfe) and their children, Quentin, Lukas, and Cadence; special sister Mary Berard; brother Raymond St. Goddard (Lynn); sister Darlene (Albert) Paul; sister in-law Paula St. Goddard, and extended family including brothers and sisters in St. Ambrose; brothers-in-law Robert (Kim) Richards, Scott (Debbie) Richards; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents Ida and Emil St. Goddard; in-laws Marjorie and Walter Richards; brothers Carl St. Goddard and Bow St. Goddard; sisters Helen St. Goddard, Wilda Ducharme, and special sister Sandy (Jimmy) Caskey.

Mom was born in Portage la Prairie where she resided her entire life. Growing up the oldest in a large family, she was like a mother to her siblings and loved them all very much. But, at the age of 20 she left home when she met her husband Ted who she shared her life with until the time of her death. Together, they raised two children and numerous dogs. Mom was a grandma to six grandchildren who were the light of her life and was a loving and understanding wife and mother.

She enjoyed the simple things in life, such as gardening, fishing, music, watching her favorite shows, and spending time with her family, as well as a good laugh. Anyone that knew her will remember that. Weekends were a time for mom and dad to get away, including visits with longtime friends Bob and Marlene Pragnell.

We will miss her dearly and can’t imagine life without her, but she will live on in our memories forever.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will take place on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 1:00pm, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.

As expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Boulevard Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5, or to Diabetes Canada (Manitoba), 401-1 Wesley Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4C6.

A tree will be planted in memory and cared for by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.
