A long stretch of southbound Highway 75 has reopened to traffic. Vehicles are once again using the southbound lanes from Provincial Road (PR) 305 at Ste. Agathe to the PR 205 intersection, east of Rosenort.
In May of last year, Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) began work on a 24.5-kilometre-long concrete reconstruction project of the southbound lanes. There is still a six-kilometre long section of the project, just north of Morris, that is being completed this summer.
In addition to that six-kilometre-long section, there were also components of work required to finalize construction of the entire stretch of the southbound lanes from Morris to Ste. Agathe.
As a result, MTI closed the southbound lanes, starting in late April. As a result, all traffic was using the northbound lanes, at a reduced speed limit.
A provincial spokesperson has confirmed that the portion from PR 305 to PR 205 reopened to traffic Monday morning.
MTI anticipates removing the temporary traffic control from the northbound lanes of Highway 75 by the end of Monday. Trimming of slopes and seeding is underway.
