Kenneth Clark Bowler

1957 - 2024

We are deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother Ken on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his home in Calgary, Alberta.

Ken was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on September 25, 1957. Growing up, he lived first in Fort Qu’Appelle, then Regina and Moose Jaw. After graduating from the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Business Administration, he worked in the hotel industry in Winnipeg, Minaki, Edmonton, Regina, and Lake Louise, before making his way to Calgary. He then began a long career as a transit driver for the city.

Ken loved participating in coaching, watching, and discussing sports. He was an avid member of the Reservoir Dogz Curling Crew for 25 years and was always quick to blame the skip for a bad game. He was just as quick to confess he was the errant skip.

Ken was a fanatical life-long Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and enjoyed organizing and coaching Elk’s minor football in Moose Jaw for many years.

He also loved camping, fishing and golf.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Ken Sr. and Geri. He will be missed by his sister, Sandy (Dave Groleau) of Vernon BC; nephew, Kyle (Calgary); sister, Donna (Keith Walls) of Regina; niece, Madison (Yellowknife) and nephew Coulter (Vancouver); as well as many friends and cousins.

As requested, there will not be a formal service. Ken’s ashes will be scattered in the mountains of southern Alberta.
