The Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park will be hosting the first of what they hope will be many 'Market at the Park' events on August 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

"We would like to invite vendors and the public to come and just have a fun day at the park. This is something new we're trying just to bring the community out more to the park and have some fun," shared Secretary-Treasurer Janel Stang.

She said they got a taste of the market atmosphere during their season opener on June 2nd.

"Houligan Acres are going to be there, as well as a lot of other vendors. If anyone else is interested, they can get in touch with the park and we would love to have them too."

Stang said for this inaugural event, they have waived vendor fees, and anyone interested in joining in can message the WTAP on their Facebook page. (link)

"We do have an application to fill out as well, and other than that, bring your own tables and whatever else you would need, and we'll have space for as many as we can have," she invited. "If you've got some shade and a way to weigh down the shade in case it's windy that day, but rain or shine, we will have the event that day. So make sure you're ready for all weather."

So far, she noted, they have not booked any live entertainment but they are open to hearing from anyone interested in providing it.

"But we do have the animals and I'm sure we will have ponies out again and things like that. So just a day to spend in the park, we'll set up some games and stuff as well. So bring the family and enjoy the day."

A barbecue will be on site for the event, as well as other food vendors including Meok Ja, and the General Store will be bringing Italian Sodas.

"So if you're hungry and looking for something to do with the family, please come join us."
