The 18U AA Angels took to the road on Saturday, as they travelled to Prince Albert for a doubleheader with the Royals. The Angels entered the weekend with a record of 18-4, and were third in the SPBL standings, behind the North Battleford Beavers and the Estevan Brewers.

The first game of the day would see Prince Albert do something that has rarely happened this season – getting a win over the Angels. The home team would take an early lead and held on as the Weyburn bats started to come alive for an 11-6 victory.

Gage Kaufmann, Isaac Mackay and Connor McIndoe had doubles for the Beavers in the loss, with Chace Kradovill hitting a home run. Brasen Sim would be tagged for the loss on the mound as he allowed seven runs on six hits over three innings. He finished the day with three strikeouts as well. Vaughn Wendel finished the game off on the mound, pitching for three innings, striking out one, and allowing four runs, all earned.

The second game would see the Beavers come out swinging. The Beavers would jump out to a 9-0 lead heading into the 5th inning, thanks in part to multi-hit games from Owen Klein, McIndoe, and Cole Godlonton. McIndoe also got things done on the mound, as he would allow just one run, unearned, over five innings, striking out nine. The Angels would win the game 12-1 in five innings.

The Angels will be back on the road again tonight, as they travel to take on the White Butte Broncos. Their next home game will be next Sunday, as they host the Lumsden Cubs to close out the regular season.
