The East Central 15U AAA Dodgers competed in the Evan Thomas Memorial tournament this weekend in Saskatoon, ending with a record of 2-2.  

The Dodgers opened the tournament on Friday night with a 13-3 loss to the Parkland Twins. Luke Manz hit a solo home run to lead the offence. The Dodgers were limited to two hits during the game.  

On Saturday, the Dodgers suffered their second loss of the tournament with a 7-1 decision against the Saskatoon Astros. Reid Griffith had a pair of hits for East Central. 

In their second game of the day, the Dodgers responded with an 8-5 win over the Moose Jaw Canucks. Manz picked up the win, allowing five runs over 5.1innings and recorded six strikeouts. At the plate, Grayden Jackson had a home run and three RBIs. Everitt Solar had a pair of RBIs of his own while Jaxson Schleper had two hits and scored a pair of runs.  

To wrap up the tournament, the Dodgers defeated the Saskatoon Expos 9-4 on Sunday. It was a good day on the base paths for the Dodgers, stealing nine bases during the game. Jackson had three stolen bases, while Schleper and Kyler Fischer each swiped a pair of bases. Solar led the Dodgers with a pair of hits. East Central displayed patience at the plate, amassing eight walks during the game. Griffith earned the win for the Dodgers, allowing four hits over four innings.  

The Saskatoon Brewers were the winners of the tournament defeating the Regina White Sox in the finals. 

Next action for the East Central Dodgers will be on Wednesday when they travel back to Saskatoon to meet the Brewers.
