Manitoba is getting ready to celebrate their big stampede that is happening once again this year in Morris.
The stampede has everything this year, including events such as the rodeo, agriculture fair, live music, concessions, kids' zones, and much more. It is sure to be an action-packed weekend with all the great events happening in the rodeo ring.
The ring will offer saddle bronc riding, breakaway roping, team roping, bareback riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and professional chuckwagon and chariot races to keep everyone watching on the edge of their seat.
The general manager for the event, Malissa Dreger Lewis says how excited she is for the weekend to kick off. She notes that this event is Manitoba’s only professional rodeo, which is located in the heart of the Red River Valley.
“We look forward to bringing all the cowboys and cowgirls from Canada and North America to our stampede. Morris is excited to have a special presentation all three days from the RCMP musical ride as well.”
Dreger Lewis adds that hundreds of volunteers come onto the grounds to help set up the stampede. The community is great in helping support this big event. She comments that there is fun for everyone at the stampede, with anything you can imagine for the weekend.
There will be several places to listen to live entertainment on the weekend, but coming to the main stage are great performers like Quinton Blair, Nelson Little, Matt Zimmerman, and many more.
Although of course, the rodeo is the highlight of the weekend for most, there is something for the whole family at the event. It runs from Friday through to Sunday, Project Patio will be down at the Manitoba Stampede on Friday, to see the kickoff to the exciting weekend.
