The 18th edition of the Bruno Show and Shine returns on Sunday.
Since its inception the event has grown and is a popular attraction in the area. Chairman Brian Krentz noted that the event has become a must-see event for people in the province.
“It seems that people like to come out from the cities to a small town to look at some beautiful cars, some vintage tractors, there’s a lot of things to do with the family.”
Car enthusiasts from communities like Humboldt, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale among other places is expected to be in Bruno for the car show.
While most car shows take place on pavement, the vehicles of the Bruno Show and Shine are located on the grass of the sports grounds, which is a benefit for both the exhibitors and spectators, said Krentz.
“It’s a little cooler just because of the colour and it’s softer to walk on.”
Another popular feature of the Bruno Show and Shine is the Vintage Tractor Pulls. The weigh-ins begin at 9:30, with the event getting underway at 11:30.
Along with the car show and the vintage tractor pulls, there will be plenty of activities for the kids. Thomas the Train will be offering free rides throughout the day, there will be a fishpond and a bouncy tent.
Everything gets underway with a pancake breakfast from 9:00-12:00.
Krentz said over the last four years, the Bruno Show and Shine have averaged between 160-170 cars along with 50 vintage tractors in the tractor pulls.
He added that a big reason why the Bruno Show and Shine is a huge success is the support of the volunteers, noting that most of the community lending a helping hand as a volunteer.
