They Weyburn Arts Council and Collabartive Studios have come together to create the Regifted Community Arts Education Fund. Regifted is directed at adults wishing to pursue various art programs. The fund provides fifty dollars to three applicants every quarter.

The Weyburn Arts Council co-chair Stephanie Lang says the only requirement is being over the age of eighteen.

“If you're over eighteen, and you come across a program that you would like to attend, and you want to apply for the bursary, just email Weyburn Arts Council Board at weyburnac.board@gmail.com and we'll review your application. And if it falls within the criteria of what we're looking for, we'll reach out to you and provide the funds.”

The fund makes art programs more accessible to adults, which Lang hopes will create more expression and creativity in the community.

“A lot of times, you know, in your adult years, you are inspired by programs or opportunities outside and might need a little bit of help with the financing of it, and it's our way of sharing art with the community as much as we can.”

Regifted will be comprised of funds from the Gifted Summer Art Market, grants they receive from various businesses and organizations, and the collaboration with Collabartive Studios.

Overall, Lang says the hope is that more art is shared, and community is fostered.

“I feel that arts in the community is a really important thing. When you have a community, there's different areas of expression and art, whether it’s painting or music or literature, it’s really good to share and spread positivity throughout the community.”
