The boys' southeast district soccer team is in the final stretch as they prepare for their time in Lloydminster at the Saskatchewan Summer Games.

The SE district team consists of six different soccer clubs from the area. “We will be boarding a bus here in two days, on Sunday, going to Lloydminster, and we’ll be spending three days competing,” said Jason Roy, head coach of the boys' SE district soccer team.

There will be nine zones competing in the soccer event, with Roy adding that it is pretty much the best of the best at the U15 level.

He noted that it is always a great opportunity to coach new kids. “The team has grown closer as they prepare for the summer games."

“They’ve bonded. This group is growing together, and we’ve trained quite regularly since their season ended,” said Roy. “We didn’t want to disrupt their season, so since the end of June, we have gotten together at least twice a week. This past week, it was three times a week. We’re prepared, and we’ve just kind of fine-tuned this team, and it’s really exciting.”
