Okotoks saw 6,064 baseball fans pack Seaman Stadium for the 2024 WCBL All-Star festivities tonight with the Eastern All-Stars taking the game against the Western All-Stars 13-6.

The Dawgs announced prior to the game that Graham Brunner was also named to the All-Star game and would start on the mound for the West.

With Brunner being named to the All-Star game, a total of 10 Dawgs took part on the day. Tucker Zdunich, Connor Crowson, Logan Grant, Nash Crowell, Brendan Luther, Barry Eiseman, Garrett Maloney, Chase Tucker, and Seth Thompson were the other nine Dawgs players selected.

Brunner would punch out an Eastern All-Stars batter while pitching at the top of the first inning. Maloney would be called upon for just a third of an inning and put up a K while on the mound.

Tucker would be the last pitcher for the West side getting a K himself at the top of the ninth. Thompson who is a pitcher was used at bat and cashed in with a run late into the game.

Zdunich picked up an RBI on the night and Crowson went two for two at bat. Luther would get a hit on the night with Grant and Eiseman getting a walk each.

The Home Run Derby ran before the game and saw Peyton McDowall from the Fort MacMurray Giants win the SR Bats Home Run Derby Championship. Crowell would hit five home runs during the competition. 

Carter Beck from the Saskatoon Berries took home the 2023 WCBL All-Star Game MVP award.

The Dawgs will play again tomorrow at 2:05 pm when they face the Fort McMurray Giants at Seaman Stadium.
