The Okotoks Marauders fought hard but saw their season come to an end in Calgary on Saturday.

The Jr. B Mounties won Game Two of their first-round playoff series with Okotoks 7-4, to clinch the South Division title.

The Mounties got off to a strong start shutting out the Marauders 2-0 after the first period.

Okotoks didn't get their first goal until late in the second period thanks to a shot from Max Pocherewny. Drew Dunbar scored the Marauders second goal with less than 30 seconds to go in the second period.

The third period started with the Marauders down 4-2, hoping for a big comeback to keep their season alive. While Lucas Harlow and Lyric Kleutsch had goals in the third, the Mounties had three of their own to outlast the Marauders.

Jacob Harlow and Drew Dunbar ended the playoffs as the top scorers for the Marauders with nine and eight points respectively. Harlow had eight assists in two games while Dunbar finished with five goals.

The final buzzer on Saturday also marked the end of one chapter for five players graduating from the Jr. B ranks: Jacob Harlow, Max Pocherewny, Carter Weber, Cole Kirker, and Riley Zeer.
