The Estevan Police Service (EPS) responded to nearly 40 calls for service over the weekend, including incidents of assault, theft, and an attempted break and enter.

On July 19, officers responded to a request from a landlord regarding the eviction of a tenant. Information was provided for the Office of Residential Tenancies, and the landlord was advised to follow the required eviction procedures.

A well-being check was conducted on an elderly female. Police attended the residence and gained access to the suite with assistance from the property owner. The individual was found asleep in the unit.

Police attended a disturbance in the Pleasantdale area, arresting a female for assault causing bodily harm. The individual was charged and released the next day on conditions of no contact.

Police responded to a report of an attempted break and enter. When confronted by the property owner, the individual fled the scene. The matter remains under investigation.

Two suspicious individuals were reported in a backyard in the Westview area. No people were located in conjunction with this report, but the public is reminded not to leave any property unsecured.

On July 20, police responded to a report of familial assault. Officers spoke to the siblings involved, and the matter was mediated without further action required.

On the same day, a male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, one count of common assault, and resisting arrest. He is expected to appear in Estevan Provincial Court today.

EPS received a report of recyclables being stolen from a local event. The individual responsible has been identified, and the matter is still under investigation. Possible charges are pending.

That night, EPS conducted several high-visibility check stops, performing numerous mandatory alcohol screenings. All drivers tested were found to be sober.

On July 21, police responded to a report of assault at a residence in the Pleasantdale area. The investigation is ongoing.

On the same day, police received a report of a stolen bicycle sighting in the northwest area of the city. EPS located the individual riding the bike and arrested him for possession of stolen property. He was released and will attend Estevan Provincial Court at a later date.
