ANDERSON

Donna Carleen Anderson (née: Scheffold), born July 24th, 1938, in Tuxford, SK, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21st, 2024, just shy of her 86th birthday.

Donna married Claire Anderson on February 14th, 1957, in the Keeler/Marquis district, on the farm where she lived and worked with her husband.  They raised their children on the farm, teaching them strong work ethics.

After raising the children, Donna decided to return to night school to obtain the grade 12 subjects that she required to attend nursing school.  She attended Wascana Nursing school in Regina, SK by commuting daily from the farm.  She graduated from Nursing with high marks and started her nursing career at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital.  Donna was an exceptional nurse, with her caring and compassionate personality, as well as her no-nonsense “quit feeling sorry for yourself” attitude.  She was able to perfectly combine the two traits to give her patients exactly what they needed.

Donna continued to nurse until she was severely injured in a car accident in November of 1991 – surviving the crash against incredible odds, we were still able to have our mother, but the nursing community lost a well-respected asset.

She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Clarice Scheffold; brother, Larry Scheffold; husband, Claire Anderson; son, Tim Anderson; granddaughter, Avery Anderson; and grandson, Bailey Anderson.  Donna is survived by her children: Jackie (Tom) Jukes and children Guy Jukes, Patrick Jukes, and Sam (Megan) Jukes; Patti Baiton and children Morgan Baiton, Beau (Taryn) Baiton; Lonnie (Kathy) Anderson and children Derek (Trisha) Anderson, Garet Anderson, Lee Anderson, Stephanie Anderson (Kyle Boldt); Laurie Anderson (Bob Nagy); Sandie Anderson and children Chelsey Anderson, Chey Anderson, Aimee Anderson, and Desiree Anderson, Tim’s son, Zak Anderson; and great-grandchildren: Aubrey Jukes, Zayden and Zoey Anderson, Ozwald and Sullivan Jukes, and Deegan Boldt.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Pioneer Lodge.  The entire staff, past and present, who cared for our mother with excellent, kind, compassionate care for the past decade plus.  You truly made our lives so much easier and want you to know you made our mom very comfortable and happy.  She loved you all.

A Private Family Service will be held to honour Donna.  As an expression of sympathy, donation in Donna’s name may be made to Five Hills Health Region/Pioneers Lodge, 1000 Albert St, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2Y2.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Cara Ashworth Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
