Central Albertans took in everything Westerner Days had to offer this year, from the parade, midway, entertainment, to the Pony Chuckwagon Championships.

After a five-day-long celebration, Westerner Days concluded Sunday night with a fireworks display.  

Despite the heat wave, Central Albertans flocked to the festivities including the parade, midway, market, kids' activities, livestock displays, live music, and entertainment.   

The North American Pony Chuckwagon and Chariot Races Results were highly anticipated during the event.  

Darren Twerdochlib was awarded the Chariot Champion with an overall time of 379.47 seconds, sponsored by Parkland Nursery & Landscape Services Ltd.   

Riley Braaten emerged as the Chuckwagon Champion with an overall time of 381.19 seconds, sponsored by Expert Security Systems.   

Braaten also won the $2,500 Dash for Cash presented by Marshall Construction.   

The Best Dressed Wagon was awarded to Levi Cretney.   

"Westerner Days is a celebration for the community, packed with five days of entertainment and activities designed for Central Alberta,” said Shelly Flint, CEO of Westerner Park. “I am thrilled with the incredible turnout and the positive feedback from the community. I am deeply grateful to our staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to create such a memorable experience."
