Due to unexpected gaps in physician coverage, there are multiple upcoming temporary closures at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre’s Emergency Department.
The emergency department will be closed:

From 5 p.m. on July 24 to 8 a.m. on July 25

From 5 p.m. on July 25 to 8 a.m. on July 26

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 29
During temporary closures nursing staff will remain on-site in the emergency department to provide triage and assessments to patients who present to the department.
Patients will be referred to alternative care options depending on their condition. EMS will transport patients requiring emergency care to nearby facilities, including Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre or Drumheller Health Centre.
Other care services at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre are not impacted by these temporary closures.
Efforts to secure alternative coverage remain ongoing. In the event coverage is secured, the emergency department will reopen earlier.
