The Weyburn Salvation Army is currently accepting applications for one of their biggest programs of the year.

“We are doing our school supply program again this year for low-income families,” explained Nicole Strickland. She is the Community Services Worker with the Salvation Army. “They can give us a call here at the office, and we will help them get some school supplies for their kids in the fall.”

Every year, the program helps around 80 children who are returning to school in September. While things start slow, they usually start to pick up around the deadline for the application, which is August 2nd.

This year, as has been in past years, Bree Patterson has stepped up to help sponsor the program.

Those who are interested in applying for the program can reach the Salvation Army at (306) 842-2280.
