Weyburn’s Ella Schenher is representing the province in New Brunswick this week. She is part of Team Saskatchewan at the U18 Women’s Football Nationals, being played in Fredericton, NB.  

Team Saskatchewan opened the tournament Monday against Manitoba. Schenher, who is the starting quarterback for Team Saskatchewan, would finish the game going 13-for-27 from the pocket, with one interception. She passed for 101 yards and added another 168 on the ground on 18 rushes. She also scored the lone touchdown for Saskatchewan in the 20-8 loss.  

Schenher also handled the punting duties for Saskatchewan, kicking three times for an average of 22 yards. She also returned one punt for a total of two yards.  

Team Saskatchewan will be back in action Thursday when they play Team Ontario Black. From there, they will play in the final standings game on Sunday for either 5th place overall, or 7th place overall, depending on the results Thursday.
