Fire ban issued for Sylvan Lake

The Town of Sylvan Lake has issued a town-wide fire ban due to dry conditions and high temperatures.   

Fires not allowed within town limits include open fires using charcoal, briquettes, wood, and any source of open flame.  

What’s allowed during the fire ban:  

• Certified portable gas fire pits  

• Certified gas stoves or barbeques designed for cooking  

• Certified cooking appliances utilizing charcoal briquettes or wood pellets on residential property  

The Sylvan Lake Fire Department encourages residents to take extra caution to prevent fires. 

The fire ban is effective immediately and will remain until conditions improve.
