Southeast athletes have secured five medals heading into day 4 of Saskatchewan Summer Games
The Southeast boys’ soccer team won the bronze medal game 3-2 against Regina. The Southeast girls’ soccer team will take to the field in the second half of the games.
Archery recurve was another successful event, with Kenzie Bayliss bringing home a bronze in the female archery category and Hunter Kirby for the males.
Donna Sutherland, representing the Southeast and Estevan, received a bronze in bocce ball.
Jennika Linthicum won the fourth female 50-metre backstroke swimming event. Jacob Gill placed fifth in both the 200-metre and 50-metre breaststroke events. The Southeast male team placed fifth in the 4x100-metre freestyle relay.
On the tennis court, Brooks Cote placed fourth overall in male singles, falling 2-0 (3-6, 2-6) in the bronze medal match. The male doubles and mixed doubles teams also placed fifth.
Softball wrapped up at the summer games, with the Southeast team just short of the bronze medal against Lakeland, losing 13-10.
The games continue today with athletics, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, girls’ soccer and triathlon.
