The heat warning is over for many parts of Saskatchewan, after a stretch that saw six of eight days with daytime highs at 32° or warmer, and overnight lows not dipping below 16°.

The heatwave managed to bring a record to Weyburn as well. The mercury reached 38.7°, which set a new mark for July 25th, eclipsing the record set last year of 35.8°.

Now, more seasonal temperatures are expected for a few days, although the chances of precipitation haven’t increased. No rain is expected for the next few days, extending a stretch with no measurable amount of rain in Weyburn to over 19 days.

Daytime highs of 28° are expected for the weekend, with the overnight lows reaching the low teens. The reprieve from the temperatures in the 30° range or higher, though, may be short-lived, with more heat expected to return to start August.
