The Okotoks Dawgs took on the Saskatoon Berries this weekend and split the two-game season series, winning 5-2 on Saturday night and falling short by the same score on Sunday, in the Berries' favour.

Last night's game saw Greg Ross start on the mound, pitch for a full six innings, and get six strikeouts in the process. Cade Herrmann, Aaron Hammer, and Ashton Luera came in as relievers. Luera stood tall as he has all season long closing the game out with three strikeouts in the final inning. Herrmann also put up three strikeouts in one inning when he came in relief of Ross.

The Dawgs started the scoring on Saturday with four runs at the top of the first inning. Jarrett Burney, Rickey Sanchez, Logan Grant and Tucker Zdunich would all get across home plate in the first inning. Zdunich, Grant, Nash "Bash" Crowell, and Alejandro Cazorla all picked up RBIs at the top of the first.

Berries got their two runs at the bottom of the sixth. Cazorla added the game's final run at the top of the eighth when he crushed a solo home run to make it 5-2 for Okotoks.

The Dawgs had Brody Forno start in the second of back-to-back in Saskatoon with Forno pitching three and two third innings and punching out three of the Berries batters during his time on the mound. Chase Tucker, Ryan McFarland, Trey Mackwood, Easton Corey, and Trent Warstler all came into today's game as relievers.

The Berries opened the scoring at the bottom of the first and then added another run at the bottom of the fourth. The Dawgs tied it up with two runs at the top of the seventh.

Brendan Luther got Jason Arriola in for a run after hitting a single. Burney got the game-tying RBI after hitting a single himself and getting Spencer Sullivan in for a run.
