Adrian Ooms
April 10, 1936 – July 29, 2024

You’re not supposed to have a favorite, but this beautiful man made it impossible not to.  Every single room he walked into got brighter simply by his presence.  My Grandpa Adrian set the bar for the type of people I wanted to surround myself with in life, so if you’re reading this, know that you too have something in you that’s a reflection of him.  Growing up in the Netherlands he was the eldest of eleven and he led a simple life, but he was not a simple man.  He wore his heart on his sleeve and was never short on “I love you”, he was patient yet nervous, always wanting to keep us safe.  Grandpa taught us fun things like how to polka, and difficult matters like how to work hard for what you want, and most importantly he taught us how to love.  He did everything in his power to help those around him – family, friends, and strangers.  He was our sensitive, sweet, Dutchman and he will always, always be with me.  Rest peacefully.

Adrian is survived by his son Roger Ooms and his wife Ann Hawk, granddaughter Heather Ooms, granddaughter Sabrina Renskers and her husband Lane Renskers and their two daughters Clarissa and Gracie Renskers. Adrian was predeceased by his wife Irene and son Orville.

A Funeral Service for Adrian was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt.  Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery Humboldt.  Memorial donations in Adrian’s memory may be directed to St. Mary’s Villa Foundation.
