Last Wednesday, the RCMP’s Criminal Incident Response Team served a search warrant at a home in Alida in connection with an investigation into a series of break-ins in that community earlier this year. At the time of the warrant being executed, the RCMP advised of an increased police presence, and that two people had been taken into custody – a woman, and a male youth.  

An update into the investigation was released by the RCMP Monday, with word of three more people being arrested in connection with the investigation. The three others, two men and a woman were arrested in Estevan last Thursday. All five made an appearance in provincial court in Estevan on Monday. 

The accused, 23-year-old Ashley Myers, 58-year-old Jody Bonnor, 46-year-old Sherry Bonnor, 21-year-old Dusty Bonnor, and a male youth, are all charged with possession of property obtained by crime unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a restricted weapon with ammunition and without a license. 

Myers and the youth are also charged with breaking and entering, unsafe storage of a firearm and failing to comply with a probation order. Jody Bonnor is also charged with two counts of possessing a firearm contrary to an order. Dusty Bonnor is additionally charged with failing to comply with a probation order, along with theft, forgery or misuse of a credit card.  

The Carnduff RCMP are leading the investigation, with assistance from the Estevan and Carlyle RCMP detachments, as well as the Regina General Investigation Section, the Regina Crime Reduction Team, and the Carlyle Combined Traffic Services.
