With the heat and dry conditions Southern Alberta has been experiencing, fires are not allowed in numerous Provincial Parks.

Currently, there are 210 fire bans throughout all of Alberta's Parks, including in one's near Diamond Valley and Longview, such as the Wolf Creek Provincial Recreation Area (PRA), Greenford PRA, Bluerock Wilderness Provincial Park, Bragg Creek Provincial Park, Ware Creek PRA, Wildhorse PRA, and numerous others.

Under these fire bans, all open fires, including campfires and charcoal briquettes, as well as wood fires inside park facilities, even those that are contained within a device.

Portable propane fire pits that are contained within designated fire pits, along with gas or propane stoves and barbeques designed for cooking or heating are still allowed.
