Vulcan's own Keyara Wardley and the Women's Team Canada Rugby Sevens team took home a silver medal on Tuesday at the Olympics in Paris.

Canada played two games on the day with the first being the gold medal qualifier against against Australia.

The game was played at 8:00 a.m. and saw Canada take the game 21-12 in a wild comeback.

Australia started off hot early scoring two tries, making a conversion, and then missing the second conversion. Charity Williams got Canada on the board with a try late in the first half, with another conversion fromĀ Olivia Apps cutting Australia's lead to just five at the end of the half.

The second half was all Canada, with Asia Hogan-Rochester getting the try with Apps on the conversion to give Canada their first lead of the game, going up 14-12. Piper Logan added to Canada's score 5:10 into the second half with another conversion from Apps to make the final score 21-12 and moving Canada onto the gold medal game.

Canada and New Zealand battled it out a few hours later with the Kiwis taking it with a 19-12.

Canada fell early in the first half with New Zealand scoring the first try of the game and converted on the two points after. Team Canada then took the lead, scoring two tries and getting two conversions. Chloe Daniels scored the first try and conversion to tie the game up at 7-7. Alysha Corrigan cashed in on Canada's second try of the half but couldn't get the conversion.

New Zealand took the game in the second half scoring a try and conversion early in the half and then adding another try at the 5:01 mark of the half, cementing their gold medal win.
