The southeast is seeing yet another bout with mid-30-degree temperatures, though this one isn't likely to hit the same highs the early heat did.
It'll still be a scorcher, with a lack of cloud cover exacerbating the heat during the daytime.
However, Peter Kimdell, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, says that some of the details in the system will keep it cooler than earlier extreme heat.
"In spite of the fact that we're going to be so hot, we probably won't get a heat warning out of that because the overnight lows probably won't be quite warm enough so that it's going to be pretty hot, but pretty dry. Not warm enough at night because the criteria is a high of two days with a high of 32 and a low of 16."
"We actually are forecasting a low of 16 tonight, but it's borderline. Tomorrow night, low 14, and Friday night, low 13. So a bit too cool overnight. So then we are going to get a bit of relief overnight and that means that we probably won't see a heat warning."
In addition, the heat coming in this week will be missing the humidity factor that kept those earlier heats so oppressive.
"We have values of 34 today, but not much higher than the natural temperature. Because it's fairly dry and the humidity values aren't going to be really that much greater than the actual temperature, so high of 35 tomorrow, high of 36 on Friday, very hot but dry and permitting the temperature to cool off overnight."
Temperatures on Saturday are expected to begin cooling down, with temperatures dropping further all the way to the end of the forecast on Monday.
