A new fire chief has been welcomed to the Foothills Fire Department.
Russ Friesen will be taking on the title, bringing 25 years of experience to the role.
Beyond his home province of Manitoba, his career has taken him to Ontario, B.C., and Alberta.
Friesen is also no stranger to the Foothills, having previously served as Deputy Fire Chief with the Okotoks Fire Department.
Additionally, he's had experience in Forensic and Senior Fire & explosion investigation.
The fire department shared a welcome message on their Facebook page.
"We are confident that Chief Friesen's extensive knowledge and dedication to firefighting will lead us to new levels of excellence in serving and protecting our community. Join us in welcoming Chief Russ Friesen to the Foothills Fire Department family!"
