Even though it was called to be unlikely, Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Estevan area.
With the weather moving into the southeast, that will bring daytime temperatures above 32 degrees, and tonight temperatures will stick to a low of 16.
Environment Canada expects the heat will continue until overnight Friday into Saturday morning when cooler air will make its way into the region.
In the meantime, Environment Canada asks people to stay cautious, as extreme heat can be harmful to anyone.
They ask people to keep an eye on older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and others who could be affected.
Seek shade when possible, and limit outdoor activities only to what's necessary.
