The Carstar Okotoks Bisons have announced that Daniel Tainton is off to play post-secondary hockey in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA ) with the University of Providence Argos.

Tainton has been with the Bisons since the 2020-2021 season and accumulated 48 points in 99 games with the team over the four years. He played 38 regular season games with the Herd last season, potting seven goals for 13 points. 

In the post-season last year, Tainton was a beast scoring nine goals in 13 games and finishing off as a point-per-game player. He would also help complete the three-peat as HJHL champions and won provincial gold last season. Tainton was awarded Post-Season MVP at the year-end awards with the Bisons.

The University of Providence Argos will start their 2024-2025 season at home, hosting the Metropolitan State University of Denver on September 26.
