Estevan's Woodlawn Regional Park is set to host a "Party in the Park" this Sunday, August 4, following the Frametech Classic/Dave Price Memorial Horse Race at TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club. The event will take place at the park's new Binzebo near Mets Stadium, offering an exciting evening for the community.
The beer gardens will open at 7:30 PM, with pop-rock band Mascara performing from 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM. Park Manager Maureen Daoust expressed her enthusiasm about the new venue: "We’ve put up a binzebo next to Met Stadium. So, we’re trying out an outdoor cabaret here instead of our traditional beach bash at Boundary Dam." She added, "It is pretty awesome. We’re pretty excited about it. We’ve had some daytime rentals, a couple of weddings, and it’s also available for the ball games hosted right at Met Stadium."
In addition to live music, the evening will feature a cash bar with a $20 cover charge at the gate. The event is open to those 19 and older, with no entry fee for accessing the park itself. Daoust explained, "There is no gate fee. We’ll have the back red gate open by Met Stadium. People can drive through the park if they want to, but our gatehouse is only open until 8 PM. There’s parking in a big open area right at their location. So if they come in through what we call the back gate, the red gate by Met Stadium and the backfield, there’s no charge to enter."
