On July 7, the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit observed a vehicle being operated by an individual believed to be under a driving suspension.

A traffic stop was conducted, and officers performed a search under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

A large quantity of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and Cocaine was located in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged Leduc residents Daniel Golub, 29, and Shayleen Friedrick, 36, with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl

Golub was additionally charged with Possession of Property obtained by crime less than $5,000.

Golub and Friedrick were taken before a justice of the peace and released with their next court date set for  Aug. 20, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
