Multiple RCMP agencies recover stolen vehicle and make arrest

On July 22, the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit located a Ford F150 reported stolen from Edmonton.

While officers were following the vehicle and attempting to coordinate its recovery, they observed a Wetaskiwin County Peace Officers attempt to conduct a traffic stop with the stolen truck.

The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. With the assistance of Camrose City Police, Leduc RCMP, and Maskwacis RCMP, the vehicle was found abandoned.

A short time later, the suspect was located.

Wetaskiwin RCMP have charged Maskwacis resident Isaiah Okeynan, 28, with:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Flight from Police
• Dangerous Operation of motor vehicle
• Drive while unauthorized

Okeynan was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date currently set for Jan. 24, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin.
