Midale Library is celebrating a wave of new grants that are set to enhance its programming and community service
“Our library is a non-profit. We operate completely free of charge to all of our patrons, and without grants, fundraising, and the public’s donations, we would not be able to run these programs,” said Jeri-Lee Jones, head librarian at the Midale Public Library.
The library received $1,000 from the South East District for exercise classes, $1,000 from SaskLotteries, $7,340 from the Community Initiatives Fund throughout the year and an additional $2,000 towards the 2024 TD Summer Reading Program.
“We recently received the Access Communication Children’s Fund grant, which is allotting us $5,000 to put into new books, bookshelves, and literacy resources in our library.”
The library has partnered with Midale Recreation and Sports to provide senior chair exercises, with the support of a grant from New Horizons.
“All these amazing grants and programs in our area and Saskatchewan really support us as a community, offering programs to our town that doesn’t have these opportunities. It’s really phenomenal to see.”
