SaskTel has announced a new round of fibre extensions, which will affect one southeast community.
In their release, they state that Bengough, Buffalo Narrows, Caronport, Dalmeny, Gull Lake, Kipling, Outlook, Oxbow, Pense, Preeceville, Rocanville, and Willow Bunch will be receiving the upgrade.
All those communities will be able to access InfiNet, SaskTel's fibre internet service.
“Bringing our infiNET network to these communities isn’t just about connecting homes; it’s about connecting lives and empowering our customers with fast and reliable Internet service,” said Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO. “This latest expansion is another positive step forward in our ongoing vision to be the best at connecting our customers to the world.”
The work is part of Phase 4 of SaskTel's plans to bring more service to communities through their Rural Fibre Initiative.
Oxbow is the final southeast community to be a part of Phase 4, with Phase 5 looking to spread service to communities like Radville and Carnduff.
Phase 6 and Phase 7, which will also bring southeast communities up to speed, will look to make those fibre-ready by the end of 2025 and 2027, respectively.
