Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for Foothills County

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued in Foothills County.

According to Environment Canada, current conditions could lead to severe thunderstorms that may create strong wind and large hail.

Storms are drifting eastward from B.C. at about 50 km/h, and could die down as they move farther east.

As always, Environment Canda is reminding people of the danger posed by lightning strikes with the old adage, "Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!"
