The Okotoks Dawgs had an explosion of runs in Brooks, beating the Bombers 13-5 tonight.

Trent Warstler took the start on the mound, getting the win by pitching in four full innings and putting out three Bomber batters with K's. Garrett Maloney, Cam Stephens, Chase Tucker, Preston Tocheniuk, and Trey Mackwood would all throw pitches on the mound as relievers. Maloney had a strikeout and didn't allow a single hit during the inning he pitched. Tucker would put out three batters during his time up at the mound.

Brooks opened the scoring at the bottom of the first getting two runs in. The Dawgs responded at the top of the second by getting six runners across home plate.

Connor Crowson got the first run thanks to his buddy Caleb Lumbard who hit a single to right field and got the Dawgs' first run of the game. Alejandro Cazorla added the second run after the Bombers shortstop made an error on Jason Arriola's hit. Okotoks added another two runs from Lumbard and Arriola when Brendan Luther was up to bat. Luther and Ricky Sanchez would also get runs in the top of the second making it a 6-2 ball game.

Okotoks wasn't done yet as they added another three runs at the top of the third. Tucker Zdunich hit a three-run home run with Luther and Sanchez on base to give the Dawgs a 9-2 lead early in the game.

Again the Dawgs found ways to score as they put up another four runs at the top of the sixth. Crowson would pick up his ninth home run of the season with Nash Crowell and Logan Grant on base. The final run of the inning would come from Arriola who got his second run of the game.

The Bombers tried to make a late-game comeback but only got a single run at the bottom of the seventh and two runs at the bottom of the eighth.

The Dawgs and Bomber will meet for the last time in the 2024 WCBL season with Seaman Stadium playing host to the ball game tomorrow. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
