Morden's Canada Day Beach Blast at Lake Minnewasta, rescheduled to August 4, 2024, was an exciting celebration despite earlier rain. The event attracted a crowd, happy to join in the day's festivities.

"We love the beach and wanted to do something fun together on a rainy day... I want to thank the organizers who provide these events for us, we're from Morden and the local things that we have, to do together are always appreciated. Rain or shine, we try and make it out. Today was a good day for it and it's great to see so many people out," said Crystal Patzer who brought her kids to the celebration.

Throughout the day, families enjoyed face painting, a sandcastle competition, and a treasure hunt, providing fun for all ages.

The people that have come are excited to do all the activities, so we're pretty happy about people participating," said co-organizer Gerta Paul. "The sandcastle competition has been pretty good. People are taking it very seriously, which we always appreciate."

The celebration ended with a dazzling fireworks display, lighting up the evening sky and creating a memorable end to the day. The Morden Fire Department's spectacular show provided a fitting finale to a day of community celebration.

"We want to thank everyone here for participating because a lot of effort goes into the planning. It's too bad you can't really plan out the weather sometimes, so the people that do show up, that's very much appreciated," said co-organizer Trisha Hoeppner.

Overall, Morden's Beach Blast was a successful celebration, bringing the community together for a memorable rescheduled Canada Day celebration.
