The weekend saw barrel riders converge in Estevan with the Fountain Tire Barrel X event happening in town.

Lindsay Collins is one of the organizers of the event, and she says that the weekend had plenty of entrants with 95 open entries, 52 youth entries, and nine peewee entries.

She says the whole weekend was full of great events.

"It was an action-packed weekend starting Saturday morning and we went to about nine Sunday night with the bareback bowl racing and the bikes racing the horses, which is apparently the crowd favorite. Then we had some pole bending in there on Saturday as well. Sunday was just barrel racing and then we handed out all the prizes and cleaned up and that was the wrap."

In barrel racing, some of the most consistent prizes went to Layne Stephanow from Melville who took home the peewee award, Jenna Fleury from Estevan got the youth award, and Natalie Barbour took home the open award.
