The Conservative Party of Canada will be opening voting soon on who will be the next candidate for the Souris-Moose Mountain federal riding.

The two nominees vying for the spot are Mike Strachan, the current mayor of Torquay, and Steven Bonk, the MLA for the Moosmin constituency.

They'll be looking to fill the role of MP Robert Kitchen, who has held the position for just under a decade.

Three voting stations will be set up by the Conservative Party of Canada:

August 9

The first voting location will be in Moosomin on Friday. That will last from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Moosomin Legion Hall.

August 10

The next location will be on Saturday in Estevan. That will be hosted at the Wylie Mitchell Hall from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

On the same day, Weyburn will host another voting location from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Weyburn Hall.

At all three locations, both candidates will give speeches half an hour before voting begins.

Kitchen has stated that he will continue to be MP for the region, helping out people in the area.
