The 15U AAA Okotoks Dawgs Academy Black took home the Alberta Provincial Championship on Sunday (August 4) after beating the Red Deer Braves 14-2 in the finals at Conrad Field in Okotoks.

This is the third year in a row the Black team has accomplished the goal and completed the three-peat. The Dawgs won their first game during the round-robin portion, defeating the Sherwood Park Athletics 10-0. The Black team stumbled in the second game falling to the Calgary Bucks 4-3. Then the Dawgs 15U Black put away the Red Deer Braves 9-3 in the final game of the round-robin.

During the playoff round, the Dawgs made easy work of the Olds Spitfires 9-1 to move onto the finals. Pitcher Ethan Renaud would take home the tournament's MVP honours.

The U15 AAA squad will now head to Laval, Quebec for the Ray Carter Cup championships from August 22-25 and aim to bring home a national championship.
