Dates have been announced for the binding arbitration hearing that will take place between the Saskatchewan Teachers' Bargaining Committee and the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee. The hearing will take place Dec. 16 to 20 in Saskatoon.
The arbitration process will allow both sides to submit written positions and make presentations on the issues of wages and class complexity-accountability framework. The panel will take those submissions and the arbitrator's decision will be delivered as a legally binding report. Any awards from the proceedings will become part of the final collective bargaining agreements.
Dawn Harkness and Greg Chatlain were nominated to sit on the panel. Former University of Saskatchewan law professor and dean of the College of Law will serve as the arbitrator.
