Estevan Diversified Services (EDS) is gearing up to host its annual garage sale next Friday, complete with a BBQ and a special clothing giveaway. The event will take place at the EDS location in Estevan on August 16.
Roberta Derosier, Program Coordinator with EDS, highlighted the significance of the event for the participants and the community, stating, “Our participants absolutely love it.” The funds raised from the sale will help support various programs at EDS, including a sewing group and a cooking group. “It goes towards our programming supplies as well as special events,” Derosier explained.
In addition to the garage sale, there will be a BBQ offering hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips, making it a day of fun and community engagement.
A unique feature of this year’s event is a clothing giveaway. “What we found last year is that a lot of people were donating clothing, and obviously, it’s a need in Estevan,” Derosier noted. This year, EDS will be giving away donated clothing items, allowing attendees to “come fill up a bag with what you need.”
