Discovery Canyon reopens after unexpected closure

The River Bend Golf and Recreation Society reopened Discovery Canyon’s water park after an unexpected closure in July, due to water quality.   

While the water feature was closed, operators continued to pump water through the system to provide filtration.   

With continuous water flow and cooler temperatures, the water quality was restored to normal levels.  

The two tests required by Alberta Health Services (AHS) were clear, and the facility was safely reopened.  

“It’s unfortunate that we closed the feature over the last two weekends, but the safety of our guests is our top concern," said Rob MacPherson, General Manager of River Bend Golf and Recreation Society.
