The St. Louis Blues have announced that they have offer sheeted two Edmonton Oilers restricted free agents Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg.

Due to Holloway being a restricted free agent, the Oilers still hold the rights but he was allowed to talk to other teams. Holloway signed a two-year offer sheet with the Blues with an annual average of $2,290,457.00 and if Edmonton refuses to match the contract in seven days from August 13, Holloway will become a member of the Blues. Edmonton would then receive a third-round pick from St. Louis as compensation for signing the 22-year-old. This ruling comes from section 10.3 of the NHL collective bargaining agreement.

"The Blues will have no further comment until the Oilers have made their decision as to whether to match the terms of either offer or accept the commensurate compensation," the Blues said in a release.

Holloway a former first-round draft pick and 14th overall with the Oilers in 202 played in 38 games during the regular season with Edmonton putting up nine points, six of which were goals. In the playoffs, he proved his worth by playing in all 25 games for the Oilers and picking up five goals for seven points. In the 2022-2023 season, Holloway produced nine points in 51 games.

Broberg also accepted his offer sheet worth $4,580,917.00 per year for two years. The Edmonton Oilers will have to do some juggling if they want to keep both or either of them as they are currently $7.23 million over the cap if they match the offers according to Puck Pedia.
