Ermina Louisa Theisen (nee Lukan)
April 24, 1929 – August 12, 2024
Ermina Theisen (nee Lukan) was born to Julia and Louis Lukan on April 24, 1929, at the family home east of Pilger, Saskatchewan. She was raised on the farm and attended St. Bernard’s Country School and proudly completed her Grade 9. On June 13, 1950, she married Clarence Theisen, and they began their family. After a brief two year stay in New Westminster, BC, they moved back to Saskatchewan. In 1964 the family moved to the Theisen homestead. Ermina enjoyed getting together with her siblings, when they would laugh, play cards, and sometimes even drive the tractor to get a haircut. She had many hobbies and interests including sewing, crocheting, needle point, gardening, bingo, cards, boardgames, puzzles, reading, crossword puzzles, and bowling to name a few. She was an integral part of the St. Bernard's Ladies Aid and was proud to be secretary for a time. In her retirement she volunteered at the Good Neighbour Store in Humboldt. In 1979 Ermina and Clarence moved across the road when Marvin took over the family farm. In 2016 they moved to Bethany Pioneer Village, initially into an apartment unit. They then moved into Birch Manor, and later transferred to Aspen Manor. Ermina continued to enjoy bingo, movie nights, and outings to Humboldt. She passed away peacefully with Marlene by her side. Ermina is survived by: her daughters: Marlene, Donna, Charlotte, Eileen; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by: her husband Clarence; son Marvin; daughter-in-law Teresa; and son-in-law Edwin Dierker. The Funeral Service was held at Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, in the Silver Willow Room of Birch Manor, on Saturday August 17, 2024, at 10:00 am, concelebrated by Fr. Benjamin Ezekwudo and Fr. Colin Roy. Others taking part were: Marlene Cascagnette and Gloria Schlitz, scripture readers; Rose Hildebrand and Anna Theisen, gift bearers; Rhonda Baker, music; and Marlene Cascagnette, urn bearer. A fellowship luncheon followed the service also in the Silver Willow Room, Bethany Pioneer Village. Interment took place at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pilger, SK.
